The 231st Navy Supply Corps Ball, held at the beautiful Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia, was one of those incredible moments. It was an privilege to document such a meaningful celebration surrounded by distinguished guests, proud service members, and their families.
My goal for the evening was to document not just how the event looked—but how it felt. From formal group portraits to spontaneous laughter on the dance floor, every moment contributed to the story of the evening.

The Army Navy Country Club provided the perfect backdrop for the evening. Its classic architecture, elegant ballroom, and scenic surroundings make it one of the premier venues for formal events and receptions in the Arlington area of Northern Virginia. Starting with cocktail hour and progressing through speeches, recognitions, cake cutting, and dancing, the evening exuded military pride, appreciation for service, and esprit de corps. Attention to detail—from the beautifully arranged décor to the overall event flow—set the tone for a truly memorable night. The evening highlighted the legacy and continued excellence of the Navy Supply Corps, bringing everyone together in celebration of both tradition and community.
Cocktail Hour
The evening began with an outdoor cocktail hour, where guests gathered to enjoy the open-air setting and connect before the formal program began. The clear spring weather partnered in creating a relaxed, gorgeous atmosphere; the perfect start to the celebration!
Event Details
The evening’s design came together through a series of refined details—elegant place settings, navy and gold accents, and thoughtfully styled elements throughout the reception space. Each detail helped build a cohesive and elevated atmosphere that felt both polished and intentional. Capturing these details was an important part of telling the full story of the event, highlighting the craftsmanship and care behind every element.
The Group Shots
Capturing these large group portraits on the grand staircase was one of the most dynamic parts of the evening. With a significant number of attendees, the ball’s committee helped guide the group into position for composition that took advantage of the space. Using controlled off-camera lighting, my goal was to ensure consistent, flattering light across every individual—resulting in a polished final image that highlights both the people and the elegance of the setting.
The Evening Unfolds
As the evening progressed, the formal program gave way to a series of memorable moments—from heartfelt speeches and toasts to the ceremonial cake cutting and an energetic dance floor. Guests let loose and enjoyed the night with friends and colleagues. These are always some of my favorite moments to capture: genuine joy, connection, and energy. Each moment added to the story of the night, blending tradition with celebration in honor of the Navy Supply Corps’ deep commitment to service and community.
